100 independent merchants and suppliers attended the NMBS Golf Day this year, held at the famous Woburn Golf and Country Club in Buckinghamshire.
Play took place on the Marquess Course, set within 200 acres of mixed woodland. Known for its rolling and undulating terrain, the course spans the boundary between Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Woburn remains a prestigious venue, notably the first 54-hole golf destination to have all three of its courses—the Duke’s, Duchess and Marquess—featured in Golf Monthly’s Top 100 Courses in the UK and Ireland.
The day followed a shotgun start format, ensuring all players teed off and completed the course around the same time.
Guests travelled from across the UK, representing NMBS’s network of 1,350 merchants and over 600 suppliers. The Golf Day continues to be a key networking event in the NMBS calendar, designed to encourage informal business discussions and strengthen relationships across the industry.
A highlight of the day was the popular Beat the Pro competition on the 17th hole. Players donated £20 for the chance to beat the professional and land closest to the pin. Every player rose to the challenge, helping raise £2,000 for industry charities CRASH and the Rainy Day Trust.
The day concluded with a BBQ and drinks, followed by the presentation of prizes.

Sam Hunt, events manager at NMBS, said: “This is one of several key events that NMBS hosts each year to bring merchants and suppliers together. We’re pleased to have had strong support again this year – thank you to everyone who attended.”
