Setcrete® Standard S1 Tile Adhesive Chosen for Victorian Fireplace Refurbishment

Setcrete Standard S1 Tile Adhesive was selected by builder Daniel Harvey of DPC, Cardiff for an intricate tiling installation of small 150mm x 50mm ceramic tiles in a fireplace refurbishment in Newport, South Wales.

The tiles were installed in the inner walls of the fireplace, which had been pre-prepared with new plasterboard to create a smooth, even base onto which the tiles could be installed. Larger format complementary patterned ceramic tiles were installed over the fireplace’s hearth.

Setcrete Standard S1 Tile Adhesive combines excellent bond strength with inherent flexibility to withstand moderate movement and vibration, ensuring that tiling installations will maintain their integrity during day-to-day use, and throughout their lifetime.

Setcrete Standard S1 Tile Adhesive is suitable for installing both wall and floor tiles, including large format tiles, and is formulated for internal and external applications. It is also ideal for tiling wet rooms and power showers.

It can be used for a wide range of tils, including porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, and glass mosaics, and can be applied over both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces. It is also suitable for use over underfloor heating systems and for bed depths up to 15mm.
