The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has appointed Pierre Krause, Group Commercial Operations and Pricing Director of the Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG) to Chair the BMF Digital and Technology Forum.
Pierre’s appointment comes as the BMF takes a lead in the advancement of digitalisation in building materials supply.
Welcoming him to the role, John Newcomb, BMF CEO said: “Supporting the digitalisation of the building materials industry is a priority for us. Earlier this year we appointed a digital specialist advisor to the BMF Board to assist with the development of strategy in this area. Pierre will play another key role as the industry advances towards digitalisation.
As chair of the BMF Digital and Technology Forum Pierre’s role will involve working collaboratively with industry leaders, stakeholders, and merchants to explore cutting-edge strategies, implement technology-driven solutions, and share best practices.
Pierre said: “I am delighted to be able to give something back by chairing the BMF Digital and Technology Forum. This is a great opportunity to influence and hopefully increase the rate of adoption of technologies that will greatly benefit our industry by using technology to develop smarter businesses, creating opportunities to reach new customers as well as engaging our existing customers in different ways.”
The next meeting of the BMF Digital and Technology Forum will be on 7 December 2023.
