NMBS has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of a new chief financial officer.
Adam Robinson takes up the key position and will play an instrumental role as NMBS continues to develop the support, services and added value it delivers to both members and suppliers.
Adam brings extensive leadership experience and financial acumen to his new post.
He has previously held senior roles with significant leadership and commercial responsibility within both private equity-backed and publicly listed businesses.
These businesses have operated across a range of markets and industries including retail, hospitality and distribution as well as the builders’ merchant sector.
Alongside his financial and leadership experience, Adam has considerable expertise of working within executive teams to support businesses through periods of growth, transformation and change.
He has a track record of improving business performance, strengthening financial resilience and developing commercially focused finance teams.
Speaking of his appointment, Adam said: “I’m delighted to be joining NMBS and am looking forward to meeting our members and suppliers.
“For me, this role is about so much more than the finances of NMBS. I want to understand the businesses we work with, the opportunities they see and the challenges they face. I can then use my experience and work with colleagues across NMBS to ensure we are providing the best possible support.
“NMBS’ purpose centres on driving the merchanting sector forward and I’m looking forward to being a part of that. One of my key goals is ensuring we continue to develop our proposition so that we are perpetually delivering real value for our members and suppliers whilst offering exceptional financial resilience.”
Kevin Williams, CEO at NMBS, added: “In addition to his strong financial expertise, Adam has considerable experience of working at a senior leadership level across different businesses and sectors.
“That broader commercial perspective will be invaluable as we continue to develop NMBS and look at how we can provide ever greater benefits for our members and suppliers.
“Financial resilience remains a key priority for us, both within NMBS and in how we support our membership. Adam will take a lead in ensuring this. He will also help to ensure our offer continually evolves and that we are investing into those areas that make the biggest difference.
“I’m delighted to welcome him to the team. I know he is eager to get out into the sector so that he can meet members and suppliers and learn more about their businesses firsthand.”
