Business backs annual bricklaying final
Tarmac, the UK’s leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business, has supported the Guild of Bricklayers’ annual bricklaying final by supplying the mortar for the event.
The Guild National Final Competition, held at Derby College on Wednesday 21st June, saw brickwork apprentices from across the UK compete to receive the gold medal for their skill.
The guild aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of craftmanship in brickwork, and having sponsored a series of regional competitions leading up to the final, Tarmac was chosen to exclusively supply the mortar for the final.
Iain Betts, an expert in mortar from Tarmac’s Building Products team, commented: “The UK construction industry is facing increased demand for housing, and improving skill levels across the industry is key to meeting this demand. We enjoy taking part in events like these, which encourage training and development within the industry, and help to drive young apprentices ahead in their chosen trade. We have no doubt it will stand both them and the UK construction industry in great stead for the future.”
