Products used at William Street Quarter

Guttercrest has supplied aluminium copings, rainwater hoppers and downpipe for an award-winning development in Barking, London which was one of the first privately funded affordable social housing projects in the UK.

The second phase of the £75 million development named ‘William Street Quarter’ is located on the former Lintons Estate in Barking and is the site of the first council estate to be built there for 25 years. It comprises 201 affordable homes with a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom accommodation in a range of flats, duplex blocks and traditional terraced housing.

Three mews streets lined with family-sized brick terrace houses are overlooked by a central 10-storey tower block.

Aluminium copings in RAL7032 (pebble grey) colour compliments the roofline of the homes, with the striking apex angles adding to the aesthetic appeal of the properties.  Rainwater hoppers and downpipes are fitted to the rear of the homes. Designed by architects Allford, Hall, Monaghan, Morris, the project won five awards including The Sunday Times – British Homes Awards and RIBA London Region Award.

The aluminium rainwater goods were installed by Gravesend firm Accurate Roofing.
