Knightsbridge – one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of wiring accessories and lighting – has expanded its commercial lighting portfolio with the launch of the SUR5 LED panel range. The collection is a versatile family of surface-mounted, slimline and suspended luminaires designed to meet the practical needs of installers while delivering the aesthetic and performance demanded by designers and specifiers.

Engineered as a direct replacement for outdated fluorescent panels, the SUR5 range offers a cost-effective, energy-efficient solution for both refurbishment and new-build projects across office, education, healthcare and retail environments. Lightweight, low profile and constructed from pressed steel and polycarbonate, SUR5 panels combine durability with a clean, modern aesthetic.

All SUR5 panels deliver a neutral 4000K cool white output suitable for commercial and task-focused environments. The SUR5LEDI model is the company’s first suspended direct/ indirect LED panel, providing 75% downward light and 25% upward illumination. This distribution enhances visual comfort, reduces glare and contributes to a more evenly lit space – particularly useful in open-plan offices. Wattages range from 40W to 55W depending on model.

SUR5 is available in white and grey finishes which allow the panels integrate easily into a wide variety of interior schemes. The suspended direct/ indirect option allows designers and specifiers to introduce layered lighting effects while maintaining a streamlined, contemporary look. The low-profile design supports clean ceiling lines, while the pressed steel housing ensures longevity in demanding commercial environments.

Importantly, the standard and slimline profiles are also available in matt black, offering greater aesthetic flexibility for a wide range of interior designs and commercial spaces. Suspension kits are available across the range, with the SUR5LEDI suspended direct/ indirect panels supplied complete with a 2m adjustable kit, minimising additional components and simplifying specification and installation.

For installers, ease and speed of installation are central to the SUR5 offer. Push-fit terminals with loop-in/ loop-out wiring significantly reduce connection time on site, while dual mounts across the standard and slimline models provide fitting flexibility regardless of ceiling type. Emergency versions feature a reliable three-hour Lithium (LiFePO4) battery. A five-year warranty is standard across the range.
