Knightsbridge streamlines lighting with modular LED batten system

 04 Mar 2026

The BATM collection of modular LED  from Knightsbridge – one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of wiring accessories and lighting – offers distributors and installers a practical solution that simplifies stock management while meeting a broad range of lighting requirements.

Designed to deliver maximum versatility with fewer components, the range includes single-colour and tri-CCT, quad-wattage variants. At the heart of the BATM series is its adaptable modular construction. Each unit can be upgraded to include emergency functionality, microwave sensing, or a combination of both through simple plug-and-play add-ons.

New to the collection is the BATMCRN, a high-efficiency batten for installation into perpendicular wall and ceiling junctions to optimise illumination while minimising glare and dark spots. The design frees up ceiling space, allowing for the integration of other safety products such as emergency signage, making it ideal for narrow corridors and confined spaces.

With performance of up to 140 lumens per watt, the range offers a meaningful improvement in energy efficiency over traditional luminaires. This translates into lower running costs, reduced environmental impact, and long-term financial benefits.

The BATM entry-level models operate at 230V, carry an IP20 rating, and deliver a 4000K output, with wattage options of 10W, 20W, 32W, 36W, 43W, and 48W. For broader flexibility, the BATMCW4, 5, and 6 versions offer tri-CCT selection – 3000K, 4000K, and 5700K – and four adjustable wattage settings ranging from 17W to 49W depending on the model. The CCT of the BATMCRN option is 4000K.

For ease of installation, the fittings incorporate push-fit terminals for rapid wiring, loop-in/loop-out capability, and both rear and end 20mm conduit access points. Standard 600mm fixing centres and a hinged gear tray support quick retrofits across a variety of settings, while full compatibility with BESA boxes ensures smooth integration into existing infrastructure.

A choice of accessories enables further customisation. An emergency module provides up to three hours of backup illumination using an LiFePO4 battery, suitable for both maintained and non-maintained operation. A microwave sensor option allows fine-tuning of detection range, hold time, and ambient light response, helping users optimise energy usage while maintaining comfort and safety.

Knightsbridge backs the BATM range with a five-year warranty, while the BATMCW4, 5 and 6 benefit from an extended seven-year guarantee, underscoring the company’s focus on durability and product quality.
