The BMF (Builders Merchants Federation) has secured Andrew Griffith MP, the Conservative Shadow Secretary of State for Business & Trade, to speak at two of the trade body’s significant events in 2026.
He will address guests at the BMF Parliamentary Reception on 25 February and deliver a keynote speech at the annual BMF Members Conference in September.
Andrew entered Parliament in 2019 following a 27-year business career, during which he served as COO and CFO of Sky plc. During the 2019-2024 Parliament, he held several ministerial roles, including Minister of State for Science, Research and Innovation, and Economic Secretary to the Treasury.
The BMF Parliamentary Reception at the House of Commons is attended by ministers, MPs, Lords and senior leaders from builders’ merchants and suppliers. This year’s theme, “Delivering and Retrofitting the High Quality Homes of the Future”, will highlight our sector’s role in meeting the UK’s housing and sustainability challenges.
The BMF’s flagship Members Conference will take place at the Belfry Hotel and Resort in Sutton Coldfield on 17 September 2026. Further details will be released in the New Year.
John Newcomb, BMF CEO, said: “We are delighted that Andrew Griffith MP has agreed to participate in two of our most prominent events next year. He is not only an excellent and informative speaker, but his involvement will also provide him with a valuable insight into the challenges currently facing the construction industry under the current Government.”
