INSINKERATOR® DONATES FOOD WASTE DISPOSERS TO SOCIAL HOUSING PROJECT

 30 Jun 2023

InSinkErator® has donated a number of food waste disposers to Stuart Clinton Property Limited for its social housing projects for vulnerable adults in Coventry, to reduce food waste and the associated bad odours, in their kitchen bins.

Stuart Clinton Property Limited is an ethical development company that creates modern care home facilities for those battling mental illnesses. The company believes that everyone should have the right to quality, safe and affordable housing. One property in Coventry that received an Evolution 150 food waste disposer from InSinkErator® is a recently refurbished home, which was once a bed and breakfast, that now can house ten male adults in need of additional support.

In addition to the housing facilities themselves, Stuart Clinton Property works with its care partner, Aspects Care, to supports its residents with a life skills programme to enable them to progress from living in a residential care setting to supported living accommodation. Key parts of the programme are learning how to use the latest home appliances and maintaining a healthy diet, which includes cooking plenty of meals from scratch. By installing its food waste disposers in the kitchen, InSinkErator® offers residents a clean, easy and safe solution to managing their inedible food waste, stopping it from accumulating in the kitchen bin and eliminating gone-off food odours too. The InSinkErator® Evolution 150 food waste disposer fits neatly under the sink, without compromising the overall look of the newly fitted kitchen.

Alex Baker, Director and Co-Founder, Stuart Clinton Property Limited, commented: “We’re really excited to get the InSinkErator® food waste disposers installed and so is the care company and carers. It’s going to save them a lot of hassle with food disposal and it’s fantastic that it’s completely safe to use, particularly in the care setting where you have residents that are doing new activities such as cooking and learning to use new appliances. It’s the fact that it’s impossible for them to hurt themselves, as we wouldn’t be able to install it if that wasn’t the case.
