NMBS has seen a rise in Electronic Trading (EDI) in the last few months, with 260 suppliers opting to send their invoices to us electronically, this is both a cost cutting and an environmentally friendly process.
NMBS E-Trading Manager, Sue Oliff, said: ‘If suppliers send their invoices electronically they come straight to us and enable us to pay them quicker, this being the main reason why many suppliers choose to deal with us this way.’
With the current postal strikes occurring EDI is a way to ensure that your invoices are received by NMBS and duly paid.
All companies are aware of their carbon footprint and sending invoices via EDI means that our suppliers can help reduce this by cutting their paper consumption. This can also be connected to general stationery costs, with suppliers no longer needing to print each invoice that they have to send.
